Naomi and James are passionate about children’s literacy. They enjoy sharing their love of books and creativity with readers of all ages. Naomi and James do events together as well as separately and have experience working with lots of fantastic festivals, schools, bookshops and libraries all over the UK.

Their events cover a range of themes and topics including story writing, colour hunts, rainbow crafts, dyslexia, creating your own superhero, an introduction to shapes, making shape characters, perseverance, diversity, the environment and plastic in the ocean. Naomi and James always encourage children to have a playful, fun approach to reading and creating their own illustrations and stories.

All sessions include a reading from one book, a Q&A, an activity and follow up worksheets. Workshops with James all include a draw-a-long session too.

Simon Pollard - Head Teacher, Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT)

  • “Naomi absolutely made our World Book Day celebrations at St Budeaux library! She was able to engage a large group of 4 and 5 year old children into creating their own picture book storyboard! A fantastic communicator, Naomi has also spoken at larger events for us, including whole primary school assemblies as well as inspiring class workshops. Plymouth Schools Library Service heartily recommends the quality and content of Naomi’s books and events.”

Julia Hale - School Libraries Advisor, Plymouth City Council

  • "It was lovely! The children really enjoyed it and had some thoughtful questions to ask too. It would be great to do more things like this in the future to promote reading!"

  • “We had a wonderful visit from Naomi and James Jones for our book week! Every child in the school was able to work with them to produce their own wonderful, bright and imaginative characters! After the event there were plenty of children who told me they were going to become authors and illustrators when they grow up! It was a wonderful, busy day packed with inspiration. Naomi and James answered all questions, many from our school newspaper club! Thank you for visiting our school – we love reading your books in class!"

Serena Shore - Ashcott Primary School
